Spring French immersion in Foix was lots of fun!

A week ago, I sent off the participants of the spring French immersion experience back to their respective homes and onward adventures. A big MERCI to them three for their joie de vivre, good spirits, and courage to dive into French immersion for 10 days!

Our time together was filled with good restaurants, gorgeous local nature spots, farmers markets, local villages and their local lives, and it also included cooking workshops, dinner guests to diversity language exposure, and opportunities for participants to teach the rest of the group by leading an activity that matched their interests. This time, origami, poetry and cooking.

I was impressed by the language progress of the participants. I knew it would happen, and I was fostering it, but each time it is so pleasant to observe it. After the first couple days warming up, the participants' French became more organic and fluid. I could speak faster and I felt more and more like I was simply spending time with foreign friends. I can tell that the immersion experience made their French sink deeper into them and become part of them. Hurray!

I look forward to accompanying more such successes, with them or with other people. Showing this region I love (Ariège, France), always makes me so happy too! The next French immersion experience I have scheduled in Foix is October 1st-10th, 2026. Interested in joining?

Joyeusement,

Baptiste
